Tengen Uzui is a major supporting character in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and a key character in the Entertainment District Arc. He is a demon slayer of the Demon Slayer Corps and the current Sound Pillar.

Tengen is an eccentric and flashy individual who always wants to be “flamboyant.” He is usually seen boasting, proclaiming himself “god” in front of Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke, demanding to be treated as such. Aside from this, Tengen displays a carefree and energetic attitude, never revealing doubts or weaknesses.

However, Tengen also has a benevolent side masked by his flamboyant facade, which he only shows to those extremely close to him, particularly his three wives, Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru. Tengen declares that they must value their lives above all else because they are precious to him. After the events of the Entertainment District Arc, Tengen becomes friendlier towards Tanjiro.

Tengen uses a breathing style he developed himself, Sound Breathing, which is as “Flamboyant” as he is. With his enhanced hearing, he employs a combat strategy called “score,” which involves reading his opponents’ movements and deconstructing them into sound by analyzing the rhythm of their motions. He notably uses his modified bombs in conjunction with his breathing.

In addition to his Sound Breathing, Tengen can rely on his superhuman physique as well as his insensitivity to pain and normal poisons that he retained from his past as a shinobi.

Tengen has two familiars that carry his weapons when needed and assist him in his espionage missions. These two familiars are highly trained mice.
