Meruem, meaning “The light that illuminates everything“, is the King of Chimera Ants and, as such, is also considered the most powerful of the Chimera Ants that has ever existed. He is also the son of the Queen, whom he fatally wounded at his birth. As soon as he was born, Meruem killed two of his servants, one because he tried to save the Queen, the other simply because he wanted to help.
He thus shows a striking cruelty and power from his birth, as he did not hesitate to kill and then eat his servant, but also because from a very young age, he discovered normal feelings for humans that were incomprehensible to him, as he was born without any emotion.
Meruem is the most powerful Chimera Ant and is considered one of the most powerful characters shown in the series. Even before absorbing Youpi and Pufu, Meruem was already extremely resilient.
