Kuzan, better known as Aokiji, was one of the Three Admirals of the Marines. He was previously a Vice Admiral who participated in the Buster Call on Ohara, during which he saved Nico Robin.

He was also a candidate for the position of Fleet Admiral, but after losing to Admiral Akainu at Punk Hazard, who also sought the position, he left the Marines.

After the time skip, he made a grand return at the end of the Punk Hazard Arc by preventing Doflamingo from killing Smoker. Later, it is revealed that he has decided to ally himself with the Blackbeard Pirates. His epithet means “the Blue Pheasant“.

Aokiji was a Marine Admiral, making him one of the most powerful characters in the world. He was part of one of the Three Groups representing the Three Great Powers that ensure the stability of the world.
