Kafka Hibino, also known as Kaiju No. 8, is the main protagonist of the manga series Kaiju No. 8. He is a defense force officer and a former worker of the Professional Kaiju Cleaning Company, Monster Sweeper Inc., who gained the ability to transform into a humanoid identified as Kaiju after a kaiju successfully entered his body. He was formerly a member of the Third Division but was recently transferred to the First Division.

When out of control, certain features of the Kaiju form become more pronounced: elongated horns, more prominent dorsal plates, a mouth opening beyond the skull-shaped mask, and eyes that turn completely cyan (with no discernible pupils or sclera edges).
