Jinx, born Powder, is one of the main protagonists of Arcane. She is the unpredictable, inventive, and chaotic younger sister of Vi and the adoptive daughter of Silco. Throughout the series, she struggles with abandonment issues from her sister and psychological manipulation from Silco, as she tries to uncover her true identity.

As a child, Powder was shy and gentle, but clumsy and prone to mistakes. This, combined with classic middle child syndrome, irritated her older brother Mylo, who called her a jinx. She deeply admired her older sister Vi (her only biological family) and looked up to her as a role model and parental figure. Although not as physically capable as Vi, she was highly creative and spent much of her time building various inventions, mainly bombs and small explosives.

However, these inventions were unreliable and only became effective in her teenage years. She showed her skill with firearms by repeatedly defeating her best friend Ekko and her brother Mylo. Despite her usually quiet and reserved nature, Powder was often shown having intense emotional outbursts, especially when facing rejectionresulting in crying, hallucinations, and self-harming behavior, traits that continue into her later personality as Jinx.
