He is one of the few unreleased characters to appear in several Dragon Ball movies in succession. His singular story allows to extend the story of the legendary Super Saiyan that Vegeta mentioned in volume 24 of the anime. His design was created by Akira Toriyama following a request from Yamauchi Shigeyasu (director of the 8th movie). In the Daizensh Movies and TV Specials, sketches of the character revealed a Saiyan tail hidden under his clothes but never revealed in the first two movies where he appears.
