Fortune Teller Baba is an old witch who serves as a link between King Enma and Earth, and who can see the future using her crystal ball. She is also Master Roshi’s older sister. Her real name and age are unknown, but it is estimated that she is over 500 years old.

She is a grumpy old lady who lives secluded in a palace on an island. With a bad temperespecially at the beginning of the seriesshe floats around on her crystal ball. She is Master Roshi’s elder sister, though she doesn’t show him much affection. She is also a greedy character who demands astronomical sums in exchange for her divination powers. Those who can’t pay must face her five fighters and win, or face death. After meeting Son Goku, she proves to be a loyal and very effective ally when the Z Fighters need her help, especially to bring someone back from the dead for 24 hours or to use her crystal ball, such as during the battle against Cell.
