Akaza is a major antagonist in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. He is a demon affiliated with the Twelve Kizuki, holding the rank of Upper Rank Three. Over a century ago, Akaza was a human named Hakuji before being transformed into a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji.

Akaza is a strong, stubborn, and impulsive demon who loves fighting, especially against powerful Demon Slayers. He despised anyone he considered weak but genuinely respected those he deemed strong, regardless of their race. Once he encounters someone he considers strong, he develops a lasting interest in them, even remembering their name after death as a tribute to their strength.

Akaza’s bloodthirsty power, called Compass (Rashin), allows him to summon a snowflake-shaped compass, enabling him to track his opponents’ movements and have a highly precise view of their bodies and vital points.
